Welcome
Welcome to royalschoolsources.com.
We bring together sources for the sheet music prescribed for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music practical exams. As musicians, the webmasters know how frustrating it can be to be limited in the choice of parts for the exam simply because the scores are unavailable. We have scoured the web trying to compile a comprehensive list of sources for the sheet music prescribed for the Board exam. In most cases more than one source is given. Although not all of the merchants stock all the music, all of them do ship worldwide.
To help examineès, we also want to provide links (where possible) to recordings of the prescribed works. This is ideally suited for the exams, as students can listen to the syllabus BEFORE they decide what to prepare (instead of just tackling any work without any previous knowledge, candidates can make educated decisions).
All the instruments are represented, as well as the jazz syllabuses for trumpet, trombone, clarinet, flute, saxophone and piano. You can follow the links on the top to go directly to your instrument.
NOTE: this site is not affiliated with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in any way. We will always stay up to date, but examineès must make sure that they are following the correct syllabus and that it is the most recent one. Remember, all students must also perpare various scales and aural tests for the exams. From grade 6 onwards, you need to have at least passed grade 5 theory, or a jazz subject up to grade 5.
Good luck, we hope this site is of value!
